From tv, the internet and talking to friends. I had sex ed in school but it was taught by a coach who wouldn’t answer our questions about having sex.

I vaguely recall watching an STD clip in elementary school but unfortunately, I definitely didn’t learn about it at home. Sucks for me not only because I could’ve really used the info. but because I would have liked to have that kind of open relationship with my parents.

I learned about sex thru a book my mother gave me at the age of like 10 called “Our Bodies, ourselves”. Then I learned OTHER stuff about sex thru the penthouse forum letters I found under my Uncle and Aunts bed. The health side combined with the often taboo side definitely shaped what I learned.

Dr David Reuben’s book, everything you always wanted to know about sex smuggled out of my big brothers room (when I was 12 or 13.) Like “Anon” a lot of Penthouse articles; also hear-say from friends (usually wildly inaccurate.)

Too late in my life and not often enough, but the learning curve was quickly mastered.
